Dell South Africa has appointed Drive Control Corporation (DCC), a privately-held ICT distributor as its distributor. This appointment will enable DCC to supply a range of selected Dell products to the channel and retail markets across the country.
Traditionally, Dell focused mainly on supplying products using a direct model to target commercial customers and small to medium businesses (SMB). Dell is now expanding its go to market model to include channel partners. DCC will provide Dell with the support it requires to achieve this, allowing the vendor to tap into DCC's extensive reseller base.
According to Stewart van Graan, MD of Dell South Africa, "In order to meet our customers' needs, we have enhanced the Dell business strategy to combine our direct model with new channel partnerships. This channel strategy will enable Dell to reach more customers in the consumer and SMB space.
DCC will distribute a selected range of Dell's server, desktop and notebook products.
Says Neil Rex, MD at DCC: "This appointment represents a significant growth opportunity for DCC as Dell's range of servers and desktops provides us with the means to expand into new markets. This addition completes our solution offering and provides our resellers with the ability to source all their ICT solutions through one distributor."
In addition to selling Dell products to its resellers, DCC will also be targeting independent retailers, further driving the accessibility of the product to consumers. This will expand on Dell's existing retail initiatives.
