New RAID subsystems

1 June 2003

Local storage solutions and service provider, SanStor, has announced the NexStor 4300F and 4500F 2Gbit Fibre RAID solutions, intended for entry to mid-range enterprise class storage applications.
"nStor's ability to act as a single source storage solution provider (enclosure technology, RAID controller and storage management software) allows SanStor to continuously add new features and meet the most demanding customer support requirements," says James Hyslop, MD, SanStor.

The NexStor 4300F and 4500F are based on nStor's Wahoo and WahooXP 2 Gbit Fibre Channel RAID controllers, integrated into its high density 2U 12-drive enclosure, and fully supported by the new Web-based StorView software. The combination creates a powerful new family of RAID solutions.
"Designed to sit in the middle of a SAN, the NexStor 4300F has the ability of addressing 512 individual hosts simultaneously," says Hyslop. "With built-in automatic cache tuning and LUN Read/Write assignments, the series is available as a single controller system, NexStor 4310F, or as an active/active dual controller system, NexStor 4320F.
"The 4500F series doubles the amount of cache and adds an additional processor for improved performance. It is available as a single controller system, NexStor 4510F, or as an active/active high-availability dual controller system, NexStor 4520F."
The Wahoo controller based NexStor 4300F and 4500F series are managed locally with StorView Local Manager (SLM), and have optional remote alert notification (call home), and global management access with the secure StorView Global Manager (SGM).
