Netvision takes IT remote support software a step further

Local specialist in networking and Internet access solutions, Netvision, is offering NetworkStreaming, a remote desktop support solution to local customers.
NetworkStreaming allows support representatives to gain complete control of a user's desktop in seconds across the Internet using a quick remote download. This gives support instant control of the system through virtually any firewall, network address translator (NAT), or router. Netvision has invested in its own local Network-Streaming server that clients can utilise to offer support capabilities to its customers.
Says Jonathan Atkinson, director at Netvision: "The Netvision offering is the first locally hosted solution. Now clients can simply logon to this portal, download the small-footprint (460k) client and immediately get assistance."
NetworkStreaming offers a range of four products. The entry-level product is Support Desk Lite, allowing one support representative to troubleshoot an unlimited number of remote computers.
Support Desk Hosted allows complete mobility to the support representative and an entire organisation can begin using support desk immediately without implementation. The Support Desk Pro is sold with the NetworkStreaming gateway device and allows customers to run their own remote management environment.
Access-desk is the last of the range and allows remote administration of unattended servers. It gives the support representative the ability to remote control any unattended server on-demand, even if the machine is behind a firewall and on a private IP address range.
Atkinson believes that the product range is suitable for all desktop support and software maintenance companies that currently offer telephonic and on-site support. The benefits of the solution is it vastly reduces help desks average response times because the support representative is given control of the end user's desktop across the Internet in a matter of seconds.
"The solution is not only a faster option but it is secure as well. All traffic passed through the gateway is 128-bit secure socket layer (SSL) encrypted."
