Ingram Micro South Africa, a division of Ingram Micro, the largest global technology distributor has announced that it has officially opened its doors on 1 June, promising to bring the most complete portfolio of IT components, peripherals and accessories to the local reseller and system-builder community over the coming year.
Building on a wealth of international experience and the strong local presence and visibility MB Technologies has in the local distribution and broader-ICT market, the new company's management team believes it has a bright future to look forward to.
The products Ingram Micro provides to the South African market are aimed at specialist resellers, systems-builders and the resellers of upgrade-equipment, which in terms of market segment means that the company expects to achieve coverage across the realms of the traditional IT channel, sub-distribution and retail.
"At present, Ingram Micro South Africa's product portfolio consists of the range of components, peripherals and accessories previously housed within MB Technologies' Storgate distribution company," explains Mark Campbell, COO of Ingram Micro South Africa.
"Although this portfolio presents our resellers and systems builders with a fairly complete array of products to choose from, we plan to bolster this portfolio substantially over the coming year, as and when we discover unaddressed areas in our arsenal."
Operating from Offices in Linbro Park with facilities that allow for substantial future growth, Ingram Micro South Africa's transition will be totally finalised over the coming months, but already the company's stock list and products are available for purchase.
Campbell says Ingram Micro's ultimate goal in South Africa is to provide the most complete array of solutions to the market, whether those products are focused on the notebook, desktop computer or server verticals.
"We have sound backing, an enthusiastic channel, an awesome array of solutions on offer and believe we can bring a great deal of value to this environment."
