The Department of Social Development is implementing project portfolio management (PPM) software solution provider, Post Vision Technology’s Project Portfolio Office (PPO) offering, to allow for the alignment of its business and IT objectives through its newly established programme management office.  

PPO is a web-based, enterprise capable application designed, developed and supported in South Africa to assist organisations of all sizes and in any industry to manage projects and project portfolios.

The Department was in search of a web-based tool to ensure project visibility, resource management, collaboration and minimise project failure, and believes that PPO’s features surpass all of these requirements, particularly in terms of functionality, implementation cycle and cost effectiveness.

Senior managers and managers within the Department’s business units, project managers, as well as selected individuals will be using PPO, with plans to increase the number of users to 30 in the next six months. The project will be rolled out by PPO implementation and consulting partner, PM Focus Consulting.
