Paforma partners with Network Alliance, DCC and Nology

South African financial services provider, Paforma Property Finance recently partnered with Network Alliance, Nology and Drive Control Corporation (DCC) for a company-wide, DSL-based VPN (virtual private network) installation which effectively links the company's regional offices with its head office in Johannesburg.
The company now benefits from enhanced collaboration between its offices based in Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town as well improved customer communications.
Looking at the implementation, Paforma due to increased business demand felt it was imperative to link its regional offices; a project that would also realise the company's centralised data and collaborative IT strategy.
To meet these needs, Paforma decided to partner with long-standing IT business strategy and infrastructure partner Network Alliance, official Billion distributor Nology and sub-distributor Drive Control.
The installation, which took approximately one week, saw among others Network Alliance installing Billion's BiGuard 2 Security Gateway at the Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban offices and Billion's BiGuard 30 Security Device at the Johannesburg head office.
Drive Control took part in the initial co-design phase as well the pilot project while Nology offered important technical and telephonic support prior and during the one-week implementation.
"Billion offers Paforma an effective, resilient solution that when compared to similar offering in the marketplace, costs substantially less. Furthermore, VPN via ADSL is a far more cost-effective solution as it offers high data rates (1024KBs) without the resultant capital outlay," explains Raymond Wright, MD at Network Alliance.
Billion's BiGuard 30, for example, is a rack-mountable device integrated with important technologies such as Load Balancing, VPN and Firewall that allow central sites to establish a office network and connect with branch offices, remote dial up and mobile workers.
Following the successful implementation, Paforma's regional employees now feel part of the team and enjoy benefits such as improved communication and fast access to all systems which in turn have lead to an integrated, centralised organisation.
