AMD has introduced two new graphic cards for computer-aided design, digital content creation, and simulation.
It said the ATI FirePro V5700 and ATI FirePro V3700 professional graphics accelerators combine its ATI OpenGL optimised driver and ATI FireGL graphics technology.
ATI FirePro V5700 offers 512 MB of frame buffer memory, dual link DVI, DisplayPort connections, and its 30-bit display engine produces more than 1 billion colours. Its Unified Video Decoder 2.0 provides full Blu-ray feature support, including dual-stream and picture-in-a-picture capabilities. ATI FirePro V3700 offers 256 MB of frame buffer memory, two dual-link DVI connectors, and VGA mode support on all display outlets.
Janet Matsuda, senior director at AMD professional graphics, said: "Following the ATI acquisition, AMD increased its investment in the professional graphics business and now delivers professional graphics accelerators that perform better than the competition at every price point. The new ATI FirePro brand communicates this focus on performance and features that matter to engineers and designers."
The graphic cards provide support for standards including Microsoft DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 2.0, PCI Express 2.0 interface, and Shader Model 4.1.
The ATI FirePro V3700 is available for $99 and the ATI FirePro V5700 is expected to be available from September for $599.
