18 December 2008

EMC has opened a new centre that brings together its engineering resources with other data warehouse and business intelligence vendors including IBM, Microsoft, Netezza, Oracle, Sybase, and Teradata.
It said a centralised engineering lab will enable vendors to conduct co-engineering activities to combine their software with EMC's Clariion and Symmetrix virtualised servers and desktops to develop optimised storage area network products.
Chuck Hollis, chief technology officer at EMC, said: "EMC has invested in the technology, services, and partnerships required to deliver integrated solutions to effectively manage data warehouse/business intelligence environments. EMC's new application Competency Center will help customers better understand how to address their business goals today and in the future."
