Microsoft and NTT form SaaS alliance

18 December 2008

Microsoft and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone have formed a strategic alliance to jointly develop SaaS offerings that combine Microsoft's software applications with NTT's next-generation network.
NTT Group is expanding its next-generation network and mobile communications-based ICT infrastructure, and is driving the implementation of SaaS over NGN for its customers including individuals, businesses, and government organisations.
Noritaka Uji, senior executive vice president at NTT, said: "As we enter the age of NGN-based SaaS and cloud computing, we have high expectations that our collaboration will spur the development of powerful applications that make full use of the merits of NGN and produce results that contribute to enhancing the productivity of Japanese businesses and the ICT-driven development of society."
